Training

Even the most profficient expounders of the gospel had a first conversation about their faith with somebody else... and they were nervous. So much of our calling as Christians is about how we profess our faith by our words and actions, and for some it is to take that further specifically seeking and striving to create opportunities where other can hear about the life0changing message of Christ.

At CEY we understand the value of training and we put a huge amount of our time an effort into encouraging and equipping others through relevant training both in parishes and indivually. below are a list of the training taht CEY Ministries has on offer in 2009 which will be constantly updated as the year progresses.

Child Protection Training
This is mandatory training for anybody volunteering or working (with children and/or young people) on behalf of parishes in the Anglican Diocese of Newcastle. To be completed once every three years this refined training aims to give you much of the information you will need to safely go about ministering with the children and young people in your parish. read more

Godly Play
'Godly Play' is a term coined by Jerome Berryman to describe an approach to children's spiritual formation that is based on creating a sacred space in which to present the stories of our faith, wonder about them together, and then allow the children open-ended opportunities, usually with art supplies, to engage the story on their own terms. read more

Stand Out Leadership Training
'Stand Out' is leader-training for young people and adults working with or leading groups specifically for teenagers and young adults. In this we partner with trainers from Youthworks College in Sydney to deliver concise and up to date training techniques and groups strategies to help leaders make the most out otheir groups and opportunities with teenagers and young adults. read more

Equip Ministry Training
This free training focuses on development of effective ministry to the children and families we have in ourcongregations. It's designed to give you practical knowledge of the many ways the church can minister to these groups, through an understanding of the context in which they exist today. read more
