Discussing Darwin and the Design of Divinity, Professor McDowell delivered this free public lecture to over 240 people at Christ Church Cathedral on April 21, 2010.

Last year marked the 200th Anniversary of the birth of the most celebrated and controversial of naturalists, Charles Darwin. While debate rages between the different types of ‘creationists’ and ‘evolutionists’ with regard to the origins of life, Professor McDowell will examine some of the issues in order to argue that the important questions lie in a more significant area – the understanding of what it means to speak of divine action.
