We pray together across NSW
Loving God, whose son Jesus Christ
called all who were thirsty
to come to him, believe and drink,
Look in mercy
on your Australia people
living in a dry land.
Forgive our selfishness in life and our misuse of
our naturan resources.
We commit ourselves to value and care for
your gifts to us.
We ask you for the rain we need to replenish
our reservoirs and artesian reserves.
May rivers of living water
and practical compassion for all who
suffer flow out from our hearts.
Refreshed by your Spirit,
and following in the way of Jesus Christ,
We will continue to serve you
in the people and creation entrusted to our care.
Amen
See Liturgical Resources for a joint statement on the drought.
God, in Baptism you named your Son as the Beloved
and in our Baptism you call us by name.
Give us the strength to hear your voice
as Jesus heard your calling.
Our calling is into membership of your Church.
As your holy people, it is our pathway into ministry.
In Baptism you endow us with your gifts to love and to serve.
We are gifted to be your expression of all that is good.
Inspire your people in parishes and schools,
in places of work and leisure to hear your calling
and understand your goodness.
Look to us to pattern your ministry throughout the owrld.
Instill in us the desire to share our gifts
and give leadership in your Church.
God, the source of all meaning,
help all who are called into ministry,
to hear your voice and follow your way of life.
Strengthen those who desire to spread the gospel message
with a generous spirit and an understanding of their gifts.
Bless the Diocese of Necastle with holy people
who as priests, deacons and religious
will follow your way of life and
bring the joy and peace of your Kingdom
to all in their care.
