As winter hits the region Samaritans is pleased to be working with local schools and businesses to boost winter appeal collections.
The Winter Woollies Week events were particularly assisted by the support of Curves clubs.
From June 1 to 30, Newcastle Hunter Region Curves collected non-perishable items and donations for Samaritans Winter Appeal.
Tracy Transton of Curves Broadmeadow said, “Our Curves members have been very supportive of the Food Drive and some even assisted me to deliver some of the grocery bags. I took another car load to the Brunker Road Office and we still have stacks of donations coming in.”
On average Curves cubs have each collected over 200kgs of donations!
